Access Bank announced on 1st November the appointment of Oluseyi Kumapayi as deputy managing director in charge of African subsidiaries, effective 27 October 2026. According to the notice published by the Nigerian bank, the appointment received approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The same announcement reports the arrival of Olanrewaju Bamisebi as executive director in charge of information technology and digitalisation, effective 28 October. The notice comes from Access Holdings and is addressed to the Nigerian Exchange and to investors.
Kumapayi was already overseeing the African remit. In a statement dated 22 September, Access Bank presented him as executive director in charge of African subsidiaries at the launch of a partnership with the International Trade Centre. The scheme combines access to finance for small businesses with training and the opening of trade opportunities.
The partnership provides for a pilot phase in Ghana from September 2026 to June 2027, with priority given to businesses led by women. Extension to other countries is envisaged from 2027. The announced programme covers fourteen African countries and is supported by the Access Africa Office, based in Ghana to coordinate the bank's African subsidiaries.
