Banks submitting bids through Benin accounted for CFA1,043.982 billion, according to official results covering the seven-day, 28-day and 182-day facilities.

The central bank had offered CFA6,550 billion across the three operations. Banks submitted bids totalling CFA6,425.856 billion, of which CFA6,385.656 billion was accepted. The results therefore show how much refinancing was actually allotted following the initial announcement of the funding ceilings.

Seven-day facility accounts for most of the funding

The main seven-day auction allotted CFA6,262.963 billion after 103 bids from 81 participants, at a weighted average rate of 3.2916%. Funds became available on 27 October and mature on 2 November. Banks submitting bids in Benin received CFA1,012.5 billion through this window, while those in Senegal obtained CFA1,317.84 billion and those in Burkina Faso CFA1,185.667 billion.

The 28-day facility added CFA97.693 billion at a weighted average rate of 4.4267%. Within that allotment, banks in Benin accounted for CFA30.189 billion and those in Senegal for CFA26 billion. Repayment falls due on 23 November.

The BCEAO also allocated the full CFA25 billion offered through its 182-day window at a fixed 3% rate. Burkina Faso accounted for CFA12.931 billion, Togo CFA10.776 billion and Benin CFA1.293 billion. This longer-term facility matures on 26 April 2027.

The country-level figures reflect refinancing obtained by financial institutions from the regional central bank to meet liquidity needs under the monetary operations of the West African Monetary Union.
