Bank of Africa Burkina Faso (BOA-BF) reported a CFA18.051 billion net profit for the first nine months of 2026, up 34.2% from CFA13.445 billion a year earlier. The bank, whose shares trade on the West African Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM), grew earnings considerably faster than its banking income, according to its report for the period ended 30 September, published on 26 October.
Net banking income rose 5.6% to CFA45.706 billion from CFA43.276 billion in the comparable 2025 period. The bank pointed in particular to a 23.3% increase in fee and commission income as a driver of revenue growth. Pre-tax profit climbed 38.4%, from CFA15.230 billion to CFA21.075 billion over the same nine months.
Deposits grow faster than lending
Customer deposits stood at CFA938.620 billion at the end of September, 6.9% higher than at 31 December 2025. Net customer loans increased by a more modest 2.2% over that period to CFA484.457 billion, showing that deposit gathering outpaced the expansion of the loan book.
Nine-month earnings were also approaching the CFA19.252 billion net profit recorded over the full 2025 financial year. The comparison between nine months of 2026 and all twelve months of the previous year illustrates the pace of the bank’s earnings growth through September.
