Coris Bank International (CBI) in Burkina Faso reported CFAF 62.34 billion in net profit for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, up 17.8% from the same period a year earlier. The bank released its activity statement on October 29, a day after management signed it in Ouagadougou.

Net banking income, a measure of revenue from banking operations, rose 14.9% to CFAF 116.37 billion. Pre-tax profit climbed 23.9% to CFAF 71.90 billion, while net earnings increased by CFAF 9.42 billion year on year. The stronger results were accompanied by an expansion in funds entrusted to the bank by customers.

Customer deposits rise by almost CFAF 496 billion

Customer deposits stood at CFAF 2,372.15 billion at the end of September, compared with CFAF 1,876.18 billion a year earlier. Their 26.4% increase outpaced the growth in customer loans, which reached CFAF 1,385.97 billion, up 15.2%. Coris Bank therefore expanded its deposit base while increasing lending to its customers.

Management attributed the rise in net banking income to stronger interest margins and fee income. It also reported lower impaired-loan ratios and improved coverage of troubled exposures, both important measures of risk within the lending portfolio.

Bloomfield ratings remain unchanged

The statement says Bloomfield Investment Corporation maintained the bank’s 2026 long-term AA rating and short-term A1 rating, both with stable outlooks. Coris Bank also reported selling stakes it held in certain group subsidiaries during the year, generating financial income from those asset disposals.
