Producer prices in Ghana rose 4.8% year on year in September, compared with 4.4% in August, according to the latest data from the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), reported on Tuesday, 20 October, by the Ghanaian press.

This increase in the annual rate of 0.4 percentage point extends a rise that began after June. The year-on-year increase then stood at 3.5%, before rising to 4% in July and then 4.4% in August.

The index measures prices received by producers for their goods and services, before sale to households.

Consumer prices, for their part, rose 5.2% year on year in September, after 5% in August, according to the GSS.
