In Morocco, producer prices in manufacturing industries excluding petroleum refining rose 0.1% in September 2026 compared with August, according to a note published on 30 October by the High Commission for Planning. The index reached 119 points, against 118.9 in August, on a base of 100 in 2018.

This measure provides information on producer-stage prices. It therefore offers a different perspective from the consumer price index, which tracks a basket of products consumed by households. The manufacturing change therefore does not directly measure the change in their spending.

Behind the modest overall rise, sectors moved in opposite directions. Prices increased in clothing, the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products and chemicals, while they fell in metallurgy and food industries.

The movement slowed after the monthly increase of 0.4% recorded in August. Its composition also changed. Metallurgy and food industries had then contributed to the rise, while clothing prices were falling.

Outside manufacturing, the indices for electricity and water production and distribution remained stable in September. The index for extractive industries was also unchanged, with data flagged as provisional in the High Commission for Planning's table.
