Rosgeo announced on 28 October two agreements between its company Zarubezhgeologia and Mali, covering a digital geological map and an information system dedicated to the subsurface. The documents were signed by Alexey Desyatkin, head of Zarubezhgeologia, and Mali's Minister of Mines, Amadou Keïta.

The mapping component is to cover two areas representing more than half of the national territory. It plans to identify promising areas for future mineral resource exploration. The second agreement concerns the recording of geological data, licences and the monitoring of subsurface use, along with training for Malian specialists.

For the head of Zarubezhgeologia, these tools should make information more accessible to investors. This is an aim of the projects, and the announcement does not constitute an exploration result.

This cooperation builds on older economic exchanges. During the meeting between Assimi Goïta and Vladimir Putin on 23 June 2025, the two countries had planned an intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation. Geological exploration was among the sectors mentioned at the time.
