Tanker traffic between Cameroon and the Central African Republic resumed on 20 October after a two-week strike, Radio Ndeke Luka reported. More than 300 vehicles held at the border can again carry petroleum products towards Bangui.

The restart followed mediation in Yaoundé between the two governments. Cameroonian drivers, who had complained of road harassment attributed to Central African security forces, received assurances on driver safety.

The first tankers crossed at Cantonnier towards Bangui. The stoppage did not involve trucks carrying other goods, but it had disrupted fuel supplies to the Central African Republic.
